About Us

We are BCNM

Bugongi College of Nursing and Midwifery (BCNM) is a Private Health Training Institution (HTI) recognized by the Ministry of Education and sports – Business Technical Vocational Education and Training Department (BTVET), HTVET, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC), and Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examination Board (UNMEB). The College was commissioned in August 2016 to provide education to especially the under privileged and deprived girl child through sponsorships to attain qualifications in nursing and midwifery.

The College has enough lecture rooms, a well-equipped and spacious Skills Laboratory, Library, Computer laboratory, an administration block, Dining Hall with a Kitchen, Canteen, Three storied building and dormitories for male and female students, as well as a standby Generator and water tank as alternative source of water.

Our Journey

The College started with 14 students (first enrollment) on 4th December 2017 and a complete team of qualified and committed staff, following acquisition of a provisional license from the statutory bodies listed above. The student population however, the population rose to 197 students within 3 years. Currently the college operates on a permanent license issued on 3/08/2020 with 350 enrolment capacity.

We are committed to academic excellence through effective mentoring within the institution and affiliated hospitals or health centers.
The pioneer set of students in December 2020, our second graduation ceremony was held in April 2024. Our Next graduation will be in 2026.

Bugongi College of Nursing and Midwifery not only has Certificate programs, BCNM was accredited with Diploma Programs In Nursing and Midwifery Extension in 2024 which take 1.5 years. Our Diploma student pioneers are having their final exams this December 2025.
